At the north end of the island is a lean-to (gapahuk) which all hikers can use. The shelter has a bench to rest on and shelter from the wind. The shelter is facing north, and it's a good place to watch the midnight sun in the summer and the aurora borealis in the winter. The shelter is also equipped with a campfire site. Easily accessible along a good path from the old cemetery.
